A carbon credit is a commercial term used to assign a value to a metric tonne of greenhouse gas emissions. When you purchases a carbon credit from a third party you are helping to fund a project that will either reduce or sequester a metric tonne of carbon emissions from the atmosphere in another location. As a result of purchasing a carbon credit from a third party you are effectively ‘offsetting’ some or all of your own carbon emissions. As an independent carbon broker we act as the middle man between the various buyers and sellers in the marketplace. Our clients (the buyers) like to use our services as we can access to a wide variety of carbon credits and give them independent advice. Likewise, carbon suppliers also like to deal with us as we have access to qualified buyers who are ready to buy carbon credits.
